SGGS ALUMNI MEETING - CHRIST THE KING SEMINARY

The meeting last Friday, December 8, 2006 was attended by Manila based Gregorians and some from Bicol. It was held at the Christ the King Seminary in Quezon City and hosted by Fr. John Regalado, svd. Those present I could recall (still getting attendance sheet from Fr. John Regalado) are the following;

Fr. John Regalado, our host. Great food at may Japanese dishes pa.
Fr. Momoy, just came from Bicol and went directly to the meeting.
Johnson Gumba
Skipp Riva
Ben Fuentebella
Fr. Andy
Fr. Jerome
Ontong Fortuno - also just arrived from Bicol. Rode the chopper of Zaldy Co to get out of Virac and rode C130 cargo plane to Manila. He's here to coord relief efforts to Catanduanes.
Tonito Martinez

There were still others i couldn't recall the names. Maybe the beer was already working on my brain cells at that time. Anyway the important issues discussed are;

1. A joint account (Fr. John & Tonito Martinez) to be opened at GE Money Bank (where Tonito Martinez is working) for incoming donations.
2. Those abroad who want to donate could sent thru Western Union to be addressed to Fr. John Regalado.
3. Foundation of Fr.Momoy in USA (forgot exactly the name) could also be tapped for those who would require receipts thru Bank of America. relief goods could also be sent to this foundation.
4. Money donations to be primarily for the seminary renovations and for the operational expenses of sending relief goods to Bicol.
5. Proposed Xmas fund raising party at same venue to raise initial amount for the roof repairs of the seminary.

I wished I could have stayed longer to enjoy the beer and stories but I need to be early the next day for my very first triathlon race in San Juan, Batangas.

need to organize relief aid

I called up this afternoon Fr. John Regalado, svd and an alumni of the SGGS minor seminary and suggested to call up a meeting of all alumni of the St. Gregory the Great Seminary regarding the recent typhoon and how we could send help to the victims of the super typhoon reming which devastated most of the province. We would be meeting this coming Friday evening and hope to get the ball rolling on the relief efforts.

I also got an email from my cousin in Austria and they are sending some amounts to help victims of the typhoon. My cousin is working in the UN and she mentioned that the Filipino community there would be organising and contributing aid to the typhoon victims.
